Had a horror yesterday.

We managed to avoid all the accidents along the M1 and the M62 – the main one we saw looked nasty several HGV’s crushed and battered – obviously nasty because they had the incident van there as well as the usual police and fire services… But awful as it was, that wasn’t my personal horror.

Oh no, there we are talking, singing along to the radio, when a spider drops down onto me from the roof of the car. I screamed, scrabbled then just froze – I hate spiders. I couldn’t move, We were in the fast lane on a busy motorway and I couldn’t get out of the car – I couldn’t even undo my seat belt.
After a quick laugh at my expense the blokey pulled off the motorway and into a layby so I could jump out of the car, shake, scratch and generally shudder in disgust while he ferreted out the hairy little bugger.
It was horrible – it’s ok for him to laugh but I was terrified. I know it’s irrational, I know there’s nothing to be afraid of, but I can’t help it. They freak me out. He should just be thankful I can freeze and not go mental when I’ve got one playing hide and seek on my shoulder at high speeds!

*shudders*
