See, I do get up before 9am *grin*
Admittedly this morning I had help in the form of a small reminder as to why we wish to move.
After getting my first good nights sleep since returning from Italy I woke up feeling incredibly warm, got up, opened the window and returned to bed for a cuddle. That’s when the screaming started – and no, sadly it wasn’t me.

At first I thought it was an injured bird or something, until I heard the words “Help me” so I lay there trying to figure out where it was coming from, it sounded too distant to see from the window. After a couple of minutes I got up and decided to look anyway, nothing there.
Then Stef said it was coming from the front so I ran through to the living room (by now the ‘help mes’ were becoming quite agitated) and looked out the window – sure enough our downstairs neighbour was head first in the mud and being repeatedly pounded by what appeared to be a mugger, a bag with keys, wallet etc was strewn across the grass so I thought he was being attacked on his own doorstep.
I shouted stef who jumped up, threw on some clothes and ran down to help.
I was about a minute behind him.

The ‘attacker’ turned out to be a spanish lad he’d obviously pulled the night before, he claimed that when he’d gone to leave he’d discovered his mobile phone and some money was missing – hence the pounding.
By this time M had locked himself back in his flat, the spanish guy was asking us to call the police when M reappeared and thrust a mobile phone out of the window – spanish dude then went nuts again demanding his money.

Now it looked pretty bad, we went back upstairs because to be honest, we didn’t want to get involved now M was safe.
To be fair, master spagna could have left his phone inside and miscalculated his cash – I’ve done that after a night out before. Pounding M’s face in the dirt was a little extreme for £30 (although the amount changed from “where’s my £50″ during the beating to “he stole my money, I had £30 in my bag, where’s it gone?”)

Either way, we’re going house hunting today, I’ve had enough of this kind of thing, between stabbings, beatings, car fires, joy riders and the general crapness of the area I want out!

Though on the plus side – I did sleep well last night, I’ll lay that at your door Miss April *grin* I know those good thoughts were coming from somewhere *kiss*

[...] The whole thing was just so random. I know we’ve been making noises about what we’d like to do to the guy, he’s been annoying the hell out of us for months after all, but if we were really going to follow through on the talk he’d have been in hospital months ago. All Stef and Ian did last night was bang on the door and windows until he answered (normally he just ignores the door but they refused to give up) When he finally did open up Ian goes to him “Don’t you think that’s a bit loud mate?’ to which he responded “no I don’t actually” and slammed the door, so they started knocking again, the music got louder, then I heard shouting, then the music stopped and the lads came back upstairs.
