Yeah yeah..

May 23rd, 2008

I know, I’ve been a bad blogger, in all honesty I’ve not had the taste for it over the last few months because so much of what I want to say can’t be said, not here, not online. That’s the downside to having a personal blog, every post has consequences. Since becoming pregnant I’ve started culling earlier posts for just that reason – amazing how our views change about things as we gestate eh?! Also lunarpages have had a disturbing amount of downtime over the last few months so even when the taste or urge to blog has been strong, access has not! it’s just fortunate I’m not looking to earn a living from this blog otherwise I’d have been down a fair few sheckles as they sorted themselves out which is why I’m currently looking at other hosts for when I’m due to renew.

There have been many topics on which I’ve started to blog but what with college, pregnancy and life in general my energy levels are taking a hit, now that college is over for the year though I will have time to sort out all the little web things that have been niggling me for ages. My website needs a complete overhaul – I plan to experiment with using wordpress as a cms instead of the clunky html/css notepad built effort I currently have. I need to update the information I have on the CFS website and tidy that up too – something I’ve been planning to do since before I left Manchester, nearly a year later and I’ve barely even looked at it.. Not good! And then there’s socialset – I’ve definitely been slacking over there, but to be fair so has everyone else so I don’t feel quite as guilty as I may have done otherwise..

So, this post is really just a quick update and a promise to myself of things to come.

For my birthday, Stef and I visited the living crafts show at Hatfield house – it was BRILLIANT! So much to do and see, lets put it this way, next year I’ll be saving up and we’re bringing an empty car to fill with goodies *grin* there’s a few pics of the day over on Stefs flickr account the ones of me are from the hour or so I spent making a pendant under the watchful eye of my experienced tutor (he was from Mexico – lovely lad!) we also finished the day with a curry – man I’ve missed those! Friday nights just aren’t the same now we can’t call round to Shamnars..

Today I shall be heading over to Hatfield to view a flat. Chris, the delightful sounding vendor, will be meeting me there and if it’s not quite right I’m hoping he has something that is in a similar location (15 minute walk to the uni and the same to my Watford bound bus) fingers crossed my refs etc stand up eh? We could be moving to our first family home by the end of June if all goes well – something I was beginning to despair of if truth be told.

So on my things to do over the summer list we have:

  1. Update and tidy all websites
  2. Change host
  3. Play around with VB.net some more and have a look at java on Bluej
  4. Visit the Manchester folks
  5. Move house
  6. Give birth

I think that little lot should keep me out of mischief *grin* Come September I should then be all set to be a student mum – scary thoughts..
